The Galil SAR SBR Ready Rifle built by Southern Tactical is based off the Original Galil SAR from IMI in Israel. These rifles are built using Good Condition or better Miliary Surplus SAR parts and the correct amount of US parts to be complaint with 922r. This Galil SAR SBR Ready Rifle uses a high quality Tortort Milled Receiver as the core of the pistol with a U.S. produced 13" Nitrided treated barrel, threaded at 13mmx1 RH(same as the original from IMI) with a permanently attached barrel extension to make the barrel a legal rifle length. Each rifle will ship with an original IMI 35 round metal magazine. Southern Tactical wanted these builds to look as close to the originals as possible and took the time to mark the receivers as they would have been marked in Israel, with Hebrew selector markings, as well as other receiver marking to mirror the originals. These are finished with a durable Manganese Phosphate base finish with a black Teflon top coat. Please Note: Orginal parts will show character and usage. Works best with .556 ammo.
Note: Magazine style and color may vary from pictures.
Brief Historical notes:
The Galil is a series of Israeli built rifles designed in the 1960's by Yisrael Galil and Yaacov. These Rifles were manufactured by Israel Military Industries or IMI. The Galil design takes design features from the Finnish Valmet and AK-47. Most Galils are chambered in either the 5.56×45mm NATO or 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges. There were three standard Military models: the Galil ARM, Galil AR & Galil SAR. The Micro Galil or MAR rifles are other variants that were introduced around 1995 and primarily used by Israeli special forces. The Galil series of weapons is in use today with military and police forces in over 25 countries around the world & enjoyed by recreational shooters alike.
