The Star Z-70B 9mm Parts Kit is a military surplus submachine gun kit manufactured in Spain by Star-Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. and chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. De-milled to ATF specifications, this kit includes the original intact barrel and retains its open-bolt, blowback-operated configuration with an underfolding metal stock. The original factory box is included, though its condition may vary. Rated Good or better surplus condition by NRA standards, this Z-70B is often nicknamed the “Spanish Sterling” due to its resemblance to the British Sterling submachine gun of the 1950s. Please note that magazines are not included and are sold separately. Get yours today—this item won’t stay in stock for long!
The Star Z62 submachine gun was a Spanish selective-fire submachine gun developed around 1962 by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. and adopted by the Spanish Army, police, and the Guardia Civil. It operated by simple blowback and was chambered primarily in 9×23mm Largo for Spanish service, while export versions were offered in 9×19mm Parabellum. The weapon featured a tubular receiver that also acted as a heat shield, a non-reciprocating left-side charging handle, a folding metal stock, and an unusual two-finger trigger that allowed the shooter to select semi-automatic or fully automatic fire depending on which part of the trigger was pressed. In 1971 an improved version, the Star Z70B submachine gun, was introduced with a conventional trigger, a separate safety/fire selector above the trigger guard, and a redesigned magazine catch. Both models remained in Spanish service until the mid-1980s, when they were replaced by the more modern Star Z84 submachine gun. This demilled kit will require a receiver to complete the kit, it would need to be built in compliance with current ATF regulations.
