It was built with an original military surplus Romanian AK 47 parts kit and just enough US-made parts to make it 922-R compliant, including US Magazine. Barrels are 4150 Nitride-treated and high quality also very accurate. The rifle also comes with side rails for attaching a scope mount, or an Optic. For a unique look, we have added a Honey Brown laminate stock with ventilated upper guard. These guns are finished with a top quality manganese phosphate base and a Teflon Black top coat to provide maximum protection. Includes 1 -30-round mag. Each gun has been tested for reliability and function, and is backed by an Atlantic Arms MFG warranty of 1 year.

The Romanian Army was primarily using PPSh-41, Orita Submachine Guns and imported AK-47 rifles in the 1960s. The Soviet Union demanded that each Warsaw Pact nation produce its own 7.62mm assault rifles. After the Type 4 AKM receiver was stamped, the Romanian State Arsenal created an AKM clone with a forward-pointing front grip molded into the lower guard, which is the Pistol Mitraliera 1963.
