The 9 x 39 cartridge is based on the Russian round and was developed to create a subsonic round for use with Russian Special forces suppressed weapons series .The 9 x 39 round has more knock down power , range and penetration that standard 9mm rounds .The reduced velocity of the 9 x 39 ammo does not product a sonic boom but this does not minimize the lethality of the round. The 9x39 WOLF Upper fires ammo traveling at subsonic speeds and was designed to be suppressed. These AR15 upper receivers work with any standard AR15 lower.
