The famous Military Vehicle commonly referred to as the Hummer is actually a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle or HMMWV. These were the replacements for the Jeep series of vehicles. These are made by AM General for all branches of the US Military and several foreign Military exports. The series’ first saw action in 1989 in Panama and widespread use during both Gulf Wars. The HMMWV is powered by a Diesel engine and comes in several different configurations.
